Empathy with 2 favorite cartoon series
Why do I empathize with the fictional characters on an emotional level as if they are real people? They are not real people. I get sad when a puppy in a book stands all alone on the rain.
And also I have a liking for stories full of hardships and sad and gruesome events because I kinda get addicted to that sadness and want to humble myself down.
Now I'm watching Dororo anime, and It's so fucking good yet depressing and cruel, it teaches you about how life can go to both spectrums of beautiful to cruel, when you're a child with your mother and your mother passes away and now you're an orphan, trying to survive in the world of constant wars, poverty, horrors (such as ghouls or monsters or demons, call it how you like it) and when you loose an arm or leg or you don't have limbs at all or you're blind and deaf, then you get fucked even more.
I love how blind people in this anime can see the soul inside the plants, animals or ghouls body, not only it helps them navigate, but it helps them interact with them too, it's similar to Tophs vision (Toph from Avatar the last airbender) she sees everything that's on the ground because she developed her earth bending so well with those moles from her childhood.
Back to Dororo, it's amazing how deep and detailed story is for every damn character (there are many characters that appear in those 20+ episodes) and also how some side characters are able to create their point of view on the world, for example Hyakkimaru's brother, he doesen't understand even why he attacks his own brother but he still goes on with it to impress his mother and father, similar to Zuko in the first 2 books of Avatar the last airbender.
I also love how Hyakkimaru realizes he has Dororo as his family, even though dororo told him several times that, Hyakkimaru couldn't understand until he had a reunion w his "mama" (the man who found him in the boat when he was a baby, he gave him limbs, spine, face, brought him up, and Hyakkimaru called him that because he only knew of that word when he was with dororo who grieved her mom).
Dororo sees Hyakkimaru as her big bro, and I honestly adore that dynamic because I wish to have big bro too, Hyakkimaru sees her as family, it's not specified because he didn't find a word to adress her differently like he did with that man, but I bet that if he did, he would call her lil sis because it's too wholesome and cute.
I love how strong bonds can be, no matter what the circumstance, no matter the situation.
When you love a person and cannot be seperated from that person you know something's up with them when you feel stinging in your chest, love is powerful and hope dies the last.
